Important Information for the start of 2020 school year.

We are excited as the 2020 school year starts tomorrow.
Welcome back to all our families and a special welcome to all our new families who are joining us this year.

Important notices:

School grounds open at 8.00 am tomorrow with classes starting at 8.50 am for learning.

The first day is going to be a hot 29 degrees. Please make sure you apply sunscreen to your child/re before school and include their hats, drink bottle (freezing it or adding ice cubes is also a great trick!) and suitable clothing. If your child has any allergies to sunscreen please let your teacher know as we will be encouraging children to reapply at lunchtime.

Please bring any medication to the office eg: asthma inhalers, hay fever medication, EpiPens etc

Kowhai and Kawaka Yr 0-4 students will start swimming tomorrow so please include their togs. All other children will start on Tuesday at the Greytown Town Pools.

If your child has been unwell they need to refrain from swimming for at least 48hours before swimming.

As a preventative (as we do not know everyone’s holiday travel plans) we are asking any families that have visited any infected areas where the coronavirus is present, or anyone who has been in contact with someone with the virus does not attend school for two weeks. Likewise, if you have any flu-like symptoms we ask that you stay at home and if you are concerned please contact your local GP.

Please remember School will be closed on Thursday for Waitangi Day and Friday for a Teacher Only Day. If your child is absent at any other time please contact our office or use our school website or app to record their absence.

We look forward to seeing everyone ready to go for another wonderful year.

Lost Watch

Dear parents, Logan MacArthur lost his black digital watch at school and it is not named.
If it turns up in a schoolbag plz can you pop it into 140a West street Greytown letterbox, no questions asked.
His grandad just gave it to him for his birthday so he would love to get it back thanks.

End of year Assemblies

Hi Parents,

just to let you know that on Monday 16th December we will be having our celebration awards assembly in our School Hall at 11am.  At this assembly, each class teacher will be giving out 3 awards – effort, SHARP and achievement.  Also at this assembly, we will be giving out badges for cultural, service and sport (for those that have done 3 years service or represented our school regionally in 9 disciplines over 3 years). Finally – we will be announcing our new head students on this day.

On Tuesday 17th at 12.00pm at Kuranui College we will be having our final assembly where we say goodbye to our year 8’s, hand out trophies, hear from our Board Chair and Principal and officially welcome our new head students.

Black Hats and Sports Captains will not be chosen until next year and these will be announced at an assembly to be confirmed.

The Year 8 Leaver’s dinner is on this Thursday 12th at 6pm in our School Hall.
