New entrant classes - Parents are contacted about five weeks before their child starts school. They usually make three - four visits to the school before starting. One way we try to foster our relationship with the local early childhood providers is to have visits to the kindy once a term and we invite the different centres and kindy to a syndicate assembly once a term.

Our main focus in the junior area is on literacy and numeracy. A love of reading is fostered through a print saturated environment and a reading programme with a balance of guided, shared and independent reading. Maths is taught at a set time but also integrated throughout the daily programme. Each term there is an Inquiry unit, integrating, science, the social sciences, the arts and/or technology. We introduce students to the Inquiry skills they will need as they go through the school.

Each room has 10 ipads.   Any ICT equipment is used to support and consolidate student’s learning.  The ipads are also used by students, for taking photos and videos.
