HOCKEY SUCCESS

Congratulations to our Hockey teams. All of the teams are in the top 3 of their grade. The Kia Kaha Warriors are leading. Well done everone.

Vietnam Veterans Day

Ingrid Gerritsen has been selected to lay a wreath as a representative of New Zealand Youth (being a grandchild of a Vietnam Veteran) on behalf of the NZ Vietnam Vet Community on Vietnam Veterans Day this Thursday, 18th August at the National War Memorial in Wellington. This is a real honour. Congratulations Ingrid.

 

Sir Peter Blake Young Leader Award

The Sir Peter Blake Trust has created the Sir Peter Blake Young Leader Award to recognise young people who have shown promising leadership in their schools and communities.

• The award is open to Primary and Intermediate school students aged between 9 - 13 years.

• To win the award the student must have shown promising leadership ability and have made a contribution to their school and/or community.

• The student nominated must demonstrate some or all of the following leadership qualities and characteristics:

Integrity; determination and the will to succeed; be a good team builder, leader and member; be hard working; and know how to have fun!

We are pleased to announce that Caleb Nelson has been awarded a Sir Peter Blake Young Leaders award this year.

Basketball

Congratulations to the Year 7/8 basketball team for winning the South Wairarapa Primary School Basketball competition. The team was Sacha Thomas, Tristan Flutey, Jackson Waru-Rutene, Caleb Nelson, Chester Rothery, Lachie Preston and Jordan Brasell.
